Westtown School celebrates the Cherry Blossom With the work of Tamagawa University Taiko Drumming and the free dance

This year marks the centenary National Cherry Blossom, which commemorates the 100th anniversary of the gift of trees. In 1912, the people of Japan sent 3,000 cherry trees bloom in the United States as a gesture of friendship. Trees were planted around the Tidal Basin and Jefferson Memorial, and their delicate blossoms of pink and white have come to symbolize the arrival of spring in the capital and elsewhere.
