Promenade Music National New Addams Family, based on family and loved whimsical characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams, will premiere Feb. 28-March traingle 4 to DPAC, Durham Performing Arts Center, under the SunTrust Broadway in the DGAC, the 2011-2012 season.

Words Addams Family has a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice and music and lyrics by Andrew Lippe. The production is directed and designed (sets and costumes) by Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch, oversaw the production of Jerry Zaks and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo. The production includes lighting design by Natasha Katz, sound design by Acme Sound Partners and puppetry by Basil Twist.

Addams Family Words offers an original story and is all fathers nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has risen and fallen in love with a man with a sweet, intelligent young people from a respected family. A man her parents have never met. And if it was not shocking enough, she confides to her father and begs him not to tell his mother. Now, Gomez Addams should do something he has never done before – to keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on that fateful night, they host a dinner for Wednesday’s friend “normal” and his parents.
